China National Metals And Entered The Era Of Energy-Saving Environmental Protection

Hardware industry is a typical consumption of resource-based industries in the production process requires a lot of metal raw materials (including and non-ferrous metals), while also consuming large amounts of energy (including electricity, fuel, etc.). 2004 tools for hardware, architectural hardware, daily hardware three categories of exports amounted to 17.3 billion U.S. dollars, exports more than Germany, the United States and other powers of traditional hardware exports, accounting for first in the world. However, this “crown? Is built on mass production of China’s consumption of resources, and pollution under the premise of a lot of energy, relying on low-cost competitive advantage comes from. At the same time, China’s exports of metal products, price is only a few industrialized countries in Europe and America one-, or even one of a dozen points. In other words, using the same raw materials, consumption of the same energy, the value of our end product is only a small part of people, if we are to create and the United States and Europe the same value product , to spend several times more than others, and even 10 times the raw materials and energy consumption.

Automatic Irrigation Systems Are The Better Way To Water

Automatic Irrigation Systems Are The Better Way To Water

When you have a large yard with a lot of flower beds watering can be a chore. Lugging around hoses can make your back sore and the job uninviting. Because you love your flower beds you hate to stop watering them. Isn’t there a better way to water?

Many landscapers and lawn services recommend automatic irrigation systems for large yards with lots of flower beds. Having such a system will mean no more dragging heavy hoses around. You may wonder if one of these is right for you. They are best installed by landscaping companies experienced with plants and watering. Proper layout is essential for optimal performance and low maintenance.

Not all sprinkler systems are alike. Some sprinklers sit above the ground perpetually. They can have a better watering radius, but because they stick out of the ground, these types of sprinklers are prone to being tripped over and to being destroyed by lawn mowers.

Other sprinkler systems use pop up sprinklers. These sprinklers, a friend to lawn services because they aren’t easily hit, sit flush or below ground level when not in use and pop up above the ground when the irrigation system comes on. When a pop up sprinkler breaks, it can cause localized flooding and can be difficult to fix.

Drip systems are designed more for flower beds than lawns and put water directly at the base of the plants. The problem is, except for the main water pipe, these irrigation lines must stay above ground to keep from clogging with dirt. The tips are replaceable, but if the irrigation line gets a crack or a leak, fixing it requires a little knowledge.

All of these systems can be laid out, hooked up to a water faucet, and turned on manually. Doing so requires you to remember to turn it on and off. If you forget to shut off the irrigation system, your water bill could take a hard hit. If you go away for a few days, your flower beds could suffer miserably.

Using an automatic irrigation system eliminates the problems with manual operation. Computerized control of the flow, the amount of water, and the length of time the water is on, saves on maintenance because it eliminates excess pressure which can burst the lines. They can be set on multiple timers to water one section at a time, and can be set to run during the cool parts of the day when less water evaporates.

This type of system saves water, which can lower your water bill. It’s a great choice when you have a lot of flower beds or a large yard. Many quality landscapers and lawn services are able to install and maintain an automatic irrigation system to meet the needs of your landscape. With such a system, you can stop lugging hoses and start enjoying your flower beds.

How To Stick To Your Healthy Eating Plan

How To Stick To Your Healthy Eating Plan

Starting a healthy eating plan of sorts may look easy at the start, but wait till you drop by the grocery or pass through the local fast food joint. Once the temptation to binge sets in, you could be in for a tough mental battle. However, once you get in the swing of things, and conveniently settle in your healthy meal plan, things will certainly get much easier. Here’s how to faithfully adhere to your healthy eating plan.

Write Your Plan In Paper

Start by writing your healthy eating plan on a piece of paper. However, writing it down on paper is so different from having lots of tasty but fattening food in front of you. To formalize your eating plan, grab a meal planning guide from your dietitian, or get a free meal planning guide from health and wellness sites online.

A Healthy Eating Plan Isn’t Hard, Provided You Don’t Fall Into A Trap

Finding healthy foods, and crafting a healthy eating plan with the help of your dietitian or doctor can be done, as long as you steer clear of the many traps that most people get into. The key to sticking to your healthy eating routine lies in ensuring that you eat foods that are good for you, until it becomes a habit, and is ingrained into your system. To ensure your success, let your friends and family or your co-workers know about your plan, and ask them to check in with you once in a while. It helps if you constantly get positive encouragement from your loved ones, as well a sin knowing that they will truly hold you accountable if you fail.

Try New Recipes

To make your healthy eating experience an enjoyable and interesting one, try a new vegetable recipe, salad or fruit juice mix, that you’ve never had before. However, don’t just discard the old favorites yet, because if you can’t live without having your fill of bacon and French fries, then don’t ease them out of your menu yet. Enjoy the usual stuff for like once a week or once every two weeks, and make a constant effort to eat healthy food for the rest of the day. The main idea here is that you don’t have to live without your favorite food items, but you need not eat them all the time.

Healthy eating can be summed up to say that you eat only the foods that contribute to good health. Eliminate the foods that contain empty calories, as well as the food items that contain lots of chemicals, food additives, monosodium glutamate (MSG) and preservatives. Remember to only eat foods that have natural and wholesome ingredients, which include fresh fruits and vegetables.

Grilled Southwestern Chicken Salad Recipe

Grilled Southwestern Chicken Salad Recipe

Looking for a delicious and healthy summer recipe? You are going to love this. My inspiration for making this salad came after eating a very similar dish at a popular restaurant that I frequently visit. Actually, this is something my Wife and I like to do every once in a while. After we eat a dish that we are particularly fond of, we like to go home and try and re-create the recipe without knowing the ingredients. Try it… It’s a fun way to see just how sensitive those taste buds really are….

FARMERS MARKET

I am fortunate enough to have a wonderful farmers market not too far from my home. There is just something special about shopping for produce in a farmers market. The variety and quality of the produce found in my local farmers market is far superior to the boring old supermarket. I know I am getting as close to organic as possible when I shop there, so if you have one near you, I highly recommend you visit and see what they have to offer. Usually the folks there are very helpful and knowledgeable about their products so don’t be afraid to ask questions.

INGREDIENTS

Here are the ingredients you will need to make this wonderful salad:

- 1 Pound of Chicken Cutlets Grilled and Cut Into Strips – I like to use the thin sliced chicken as it cooks really fast and is easy to cut into strips.

- Southwestern Spice Rub:

2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon salt
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried oregano

- 8 Ounces of Mixed Salad Greens – I like to use a mix of Baby Romaine, Radicchio and Tango. If you can’t find fresh greens, I recommend buying a bag of Fresh Express brand mixed salad greens. I have sampled a handful of salad brands and Fresh Express is by far the best in my opinion. The vegetable are always fresh, crisp and delicious. Everything is pre-washed and there are no preservatives.

2 Ripe Avocados Cut Into Small Chunks – It is very important that you choose ripened avocados. When looking for ripe avocados, do not choose them based on color. The best way to determine if they are ripe is by the squeeze test. Ripe avocados will have a firm flesh but will give slightly when squeezed. Unripened avocados are hard and will not give. You should be able to tell the difference. It may take a bit of practice though. If you are unsure, ask for help. A ripe avocado should slice like butter.

1 Large Green Bell Pepper Cut Into Squares

2 Ears of Roasted Corn (Instructions Below)

Half of a Red Onion Sliced

A Healthy Bunch of Fresh Cilantro Chopped

1/2 Cup of Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Ranch Dressing

DIRECTIONS

Step 1 – Soak the Corn, husks and all, in cold water for 30 minutes.

Step 2 – While corn is soaking, prepare the chicken cutlets. Lightly coat the chicken with olive oil and sprinkle some southwestern spice rub on both sides. Rub the spices into the chicken. Refrigerate and allow the chicken to marinate while the corn is soaking.

Step 3 – After corn is done soaking, preheat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Place corn directly on oven rack and roast for approximately 30 minutes or until the corn is relatively soft. Remove from oven and let the corn cool.

Step 4 – Preheat indoor or outdoor grill. Get the grill nice and hot. Grill chicken cutlets for about 2 minutes on each side, or until done. Remove from grill and allow to cool.

Step 5 – While the chicken and corn is cooling, add the remaining ingredients into a large bowl.

Step 6 – Remove corn from cob. Hold corn upright over a cutting board. Using a knife, gently cut the corn from the cob in a downward motion. Be careful!

Step 7 – Slice the chicken into thin strips.

Step 8 – Add the corn and chicken to the bowl with the rest of the ingredients.

Step 9 – Add the ranch dressing and toss the salad. The amount of ranch dressing you add is really up to you. It depends on your personal preference. I like to add about 1/4 cup.

Your done! Serve and enjoy!

Three Balanced Breakfast Recipes

Three Balanced Breakfast Recipes

You’ve heard it just before, time and time again – “breakfast is the most essential meal of the day” – but in our hectic, on-the-go society, individuals generally rush by way of breakfast or skip it altogether. Try these three simple wholesome breakfast recipes to start off your day off right.

one. Spicy Scrambled Eggs

I love spicy food! This zesty breakfast is certain to wake up your taste buds.

Elements:

2 teaspoons of butter, olive oil, or coconut oil

one/two pot diced pepper, orange or red

one/two pot diced onion

two big eggs

one/4 cup milk

1/four pot cheese

Sea Salt

Soil Pepper

one/4 cup salsa

1/a couple of avocado

two complete wheat tortillas or slices of toast

Heat one teaspoon of butter or oil above medium heat in a skillet. Create pepper and cook until eventually soft, then add onion. When the diced onion begins to sweat, remove the pepper and onion from a skillet and conserve them on a plate. Rinse the skillet clean.

In a mixing bowl, whisk eggs with milk. The milk will make the scrambled eggs added fluffy. Season with salt and pepper. Create 1 teaspoon of butter or oil to skillet. Create egg-milk mixture and cook more than medium heat, constantly stirring with a spatula. Right after a couple of minutes, when the eggs are nearly scrambled to your liking, create the pepper, onion, and cheese.

Use pepper jack cheese for an additional kick! For added spice, sprinkle hot sauce, soil cumin, or paprika over the eggs.

Serve with fresh salsa, avocado, and complete wheat toast or tortillas. If you’re in a hurry, you can make a breakfast sandwich or breakfast burrito! At times I create other ingredients to the scrambled eggs, like diced tomatoes, sliced mushrooms, or spinach.

a couple of. Fruit & Protein Breakfast Smoothie

There’s nothing like a drinkable breakfast when you’re in a hurry.

Elements:

a couple of cups fresh mixed berries (whatever’s in season)

1/4 cup pomegranate or acai berry juice

three tablespoons honey

one pot silken tofu

1 teaspoon ground flaxseed

1 pot silken tofu

Basically combine all ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth. The tofu gives protein; the flaxseed offers fiber as well as omega-three fatty acid; and the juice and berries supply a wholesome dose of antioxidants.

a few. Homemade Breakfast Bars

I like to make these homemade breakfast bars over the weekend and save them as a back-up breakfast throughout the week. It seems like there’s often at least a single morning in the course of the week when I just don’t have time to cook.

Elements:

one pot peanut butter or almond butter (I favor organic)

3/4 pot honey (I choose raw honey)

several cups rolled oats

one cup toasted almonds, slivered

one/a couple of cup raisins (or yet another dried fruit, like cranberries)

one/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/a couple of teaspoon vanilla extract

Grease an oven-safe pan with butter, or spray it with cooking spray. Preheat oven to 350. Over a medium flame, cook the peanut butter and honey in a saucepan for about five minutes, whisking right up until the mixture has melted. Stir in the vanilla and cinnamon, then create the oats, almonds, and raisins. Bake for 15 minutes, let cool, and cut into squares.

These homemade breakfast bars will last for about a week in the fridge, and they’ll last for numerous weeks if you wrap them up and stick them in the freezer. They go great with an apple, banana, or one more piece of fruit. It’s easy to grab a single when you’re on the run, and they’re very much healthier than store-bought breakfast bars that are full of corn syrup.

Now that you have these quick, tasty breakfast recipes, you have no excuse to skip breakfast. It genuinely is the most important meal of the day due to the fact it gets your metabolism going. Individuals who skip breakfast have a harder time losing weight. Look at to consist of protein in your breakfast, as it will help curb your appetite all through the day, and attempt to consist of complex carbs like complete wheat and fruit, as they’ll present energy and assist control hunger.

Healthy Minestrone Soup Recipe

Healthy Minestrone Soup Recipe

What sounds more cozy and satisfying on a chilly day, or when the sun fades and it finally cools down in the evening, than a comforting bowl of flavorful soup? In addition to the warmth and comfort soup can offer, it’s also a “secret weapon” for both improved health AND weight loss!

A study was performed in a laboratory in which twenty-four lean women ate breakfast, lunch and dinner under supervision in the lab on one day a week for a total of four weeks. On three of the four days, these women ate one of three different types of “snacks” seventeen minutes before sitting down to the lunch meal. One type of pre-lunch “snack” was a measured portion of chicken and rice casserole. The second type was the same amount of chicken and rice casserole served with a glass of water. The third type was a bowl of chicken and rice soup, which contained the exact same measured amounts of both the casserole and the water that had previously been served separately.

The average amount of calories these women ate at lunch following the pre-lunch snack of soup was significantly lower than on the other days when either just the casserole or the casserole plus a glass of water was ingested prior to the meal. Also, these women did not compensate for the smaller calorie intake at lunch by eating a larger dinner later in the day.

The result of this study suggests that eating soup can help a person to feel full and satisfied while taking in fewer calories. This is just one reason soup is considered to be an essential component of the Tortoise Diet’s “Daily Seven for Success.” Regularly enjoying broth-based soups filled with colorful vegetables and heart-healthy legumes is an easy way to increase the intake of fiber, phytonutrients, vitamins and low-fat protein- all in one satisfying bowl. In addition, eating a hot liquidy concoction, one spoonful at a time, forces a person to slow down the act of eating. This allows the stomach to get the “I’m full” message sooner, so over-eating is less likely.

You’ll find several excellent recipes for delicious, nutrient-dense soups in my book, The Tortoise Diet. The following is just one of the many “How Low Can You Go?” recipes you’ll find located in Appendix C. All of these recipes are intended not only to be nutritious, but to be quick and easy enough for anyone to be able to regularly whip up in their own kitchen. Making this recipe for Minestrone Soup, for example, requires just a few minutes to gather the ingredients, clean and chop the vegetables, open a few cans, and toss everything into a pot.

Once the soup has simmered for an hour or so, you’ll have a week’s worth of individual servings to place into serving-sized containers and pop into the refrigerator or freezer. Throughout the week, it will be a snap to toss one of these containers into a lunch bag, to take with you when you leave the house. The frozen container will help to keep the contents of your lunch bag chilled until you are ready to pop it into the microwave to heat and eat.

So, for your health and for your weight loss … EAT LOTS OF SOUP!

THE TORTOISE DIET RECIPE FOR MINESTRONE SOUP

Place all of the following ingredients into a large stockpot:

1 can fat-free chicken broth plus 32 ounces of water ( may delete the broth and instead use three chicken, vegetable or beef bullion cubes, if desired) 2 cans stewed tomatoes, including liquid
1 can great northern beans, garbanzo beans, or cannellini beans, including liquid 1 can kidney beans, including liquid
2 cans cut green beans, including liquid
1 can (12 ounces) vegetable juice (like V-8)
2 stalks celery, diced
3 carrots, cut into bite sized pieces
1 small onion, diced
1 whole bay leaf
2 cloves garlic, cut into fourths and placed into the broth 1 teaspoon oregano
1½ teaspoons dried thyme
2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper, to taste

Add salt only after the soup has been simmering for 30 minutes or so, after you’ve tasted it, as the liquids already added contain salt.

Simmer for 1 to 2 hours until vegetables are tender.

During the last ½ hour or so of simmering, add 1/4 cup (dry) tiny elbow pasta. During the last 5 minutes of simmering, add 2/3 cup green peas.

Entire recipe = approximately 1,500 calories.

Sprinkle each serving with 2 teaspoons grated Parmesan cheese, if desired (adds 50 calories).

Time to Eat Healthy! Healthy Bran Muffins and Whole Wheat Banana Muffins Recipes

Now that the holidays are past and we are about to enter a new year, it seems many of us are determined to diet or eat healthier in the coming year.  With the world-wide economic crisis we are in, many may think they will not be able to eat healthier because they are cutting back on their food budgets.  With the stress families are under, now is the time to improve your eating habits.  It is important to stay healthy during these rougher times.  You can start by making small changes.  Try these healthy muffin recipes for breakfast or a light lunch.  Pair them with some fresh fruit (buy seasonal fruits to save money) and you have a healthy meal.  And remember, huge muffins don’t fit into your healthier eating or diet plan.  By making your own muffins, you can make them in mini-muffin tins or only fill your regular muffin tins half full.  You will have a healthier portion size.

WHOLE-WHEAT BANANA MUFFINS

5 medium-ripe bananas

2 cups whole-wheat flour

1/2 tsp salt

3 tsp baking powder

2 tbsp honey

1/4 cup milk

2 tbsp melted butter

1 egg

Peel bananas and mash with a fork.  Set aside.    In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and baking powder.  Set dry ingredients aside.  Add the remaining ingredients to the bananas and mix thoroughly.  Add banana mixture to the flour mixture.  Grease 12 muffins cups and divide mixture evenly into the muffin cups.  Bake at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes or until done.

HEALTHY BRAN MUFFINS

1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

1/4 cup egg substitute

1 1/2 cups low-fat buttermilk

3 tbsp canola or olive oil

2 tsp vanilla extract

1/8 tsp salt

1/4 cup instant low-fat dry milk

3/4 cup SPLENDA granular

1 cup wheat bran, divided

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp ground cinnamon

2 tbsp flaxseeds

2 tbsp raisins

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Line muffin cups with paper baking liners.

Blend applesauce, egg substitute, buttermilk, oil, vanilla, salt, dry milk, and SPLENDA together in a large mixing bowl, using a wire whisk.  Reserve 2 tablespoons wheat bran and set aside.  Add remaining wheat bran, flour, baking soda and cinnamon to mixture in large mixing bowl.  Stir well.  Mix in flaxseeds and raisins.  Fill muffin cups 1/2 to 2/3 full of batter.  Top each with a sprinkle of the reserved wheat bran.  Bake 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Enjoy!

Red Potato, Zucchini And Mushroom Recipe Great As A Side Dish For Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a day for sharing and being thankful for what you have and what better way to be grateful than by sitting a table full of good food. My red potato, zucchini and mushroom recipe is my favorite. I have not been making it that long, it was something I just threw together. I love this recipe not because it’s delicious but because it’s nutritious and fulfilling. You can eat it by itself or with your favorite meat.

You will need;

5 red potatoes peeled or not peeled.

3- Large zucchini peeled or not peeled

1 pack of mushrooms already sliced

3 cloves of garlic

11/2 tsp of salt

1/3 slice of a red onion

1 TBSP of olive oil or margarine

1 Large skillet

2-cups of water

First add the two cups of water to the skillet and turn the top of the stove on high, just until the water starts boiling. While the water is getting ready start slicing the potatoes into the shape of chips, but thicker. If you prefer to peel them you can do that. Rinse the potatoes once you are done slicing them and add them to the water with the salt and olive oil. Once the water starts boiling turn down the stove to medium and put the top on the skillet.

While the potatoes are cooking rinse off the zucchini if you are not going to peel them, if you are you do not have to rinse them. Slice them the same way you did the potatoes. Don’t add the zucchini until the potatoes are half way done. Let the potatoes cook for at least 10 minutes before adding the zucchini because you don’t want it to overcook unless you prefer it that way. Stir occasionally. When the potatoes are half ready add the onions, garlic, zucchini and mushrooms. Make sure you rinse the mushrooms before adding them to the skillet.

Let the dish simmer for another 10 or until the zucchini is tender, but still has a little bit of a crunch to it. Stir occasionally. Add more water if needed, make sure it’s not soupy. You can cook it longer if you like. This recipe should feed 5 people and it takes about 30 minutes to prepare and cook.

I hope you enjoy it, my family and I love it and it will always be a recipe we all appreciate.
